Gaming Performance - 1:
The ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe was slightly slower than the two NVIDIA-based motherboards in single card mode. However, unlike the GeForce 7800 GT OC SLI numbers, which suffered a slight performance drop at this low resolution, the CrossFire solution improved performance ever so slightly. It's completely CPU limited here, so I don't think the performance delta between GeForce 7800 GT and Radeon X1900 is going to make a great deal of difference.
Interestingly, the A8R32-MVP was the fastest board in our CPU limited Quake 4 benchmark with a single GeForce 7800 GT OC installed. It was three frames per second faster than the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe, which equates to about 1.5% in real terms.
Again, the RD580-based A8R32 was the fastest board in both single and dual card modes in Lost Coast. The LANParty nF4 SLI-DR was slower than the A8N32-SLI Deluxe, while the A8R-MVP delivered similar performance to the RD580 motherboard.
